Mainstreet funds support Mayfield businesses (in precinct area) with the following programs and grants:  (read below for further details)

Signage Grants

Mayfield Mainstreet Committee offers local businesses the following incentives to brighten and advertise their business. Brighten your business today and receive up to 50% off your signage up to $1000 and $500 for amounts over $1000.
It is as easy as:
1)  Let us know you are looking to get new signage;
2)  Send us a copy of the paid invoice, Tax Invoice from your business and a picture of the new sign;
3)  The Committee will approve the payment at the next meeting;

Brighten your Business at Night

Under awning lights help keep businesses from being targeted by vandals, so for a small investment of $290 + GST – after which Mayfield Mainstreet pays for all upkeep and electricity – the return on investment is paid back into business with the reduction of crime outside their business reducing “black spots”. Not to forget that the Mainstreet looks great at a night adding to the retail amenity and safety of the business.

Cost Effective Advertising

The Committee sends out a newsletter and e news to approx 300 contracts each month. Why not let local people and businesses owners know about your business.

Mayfield Business Directory

Mayfield Mainstreet now has a ‘Mayfield Business and Community Directory’- developed for locals by locals and distributed to every business and household in Mayfield, Warabrook, Tighes Hill, Islington, Wickham and Maryville. It is also being made available to local real estate agents to use for new home owners or rentals. More than 75 Mainstreet businesses and 35 community groups are featured. Developed by the Mainstreet program and with the help of the Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD), 20 000 directories have been delivered and the Committee is looking to update the Directory every 2 years.  We Support Youth Art

Over the years Mayfield has been at the forefront of the fight against graffiti. The Committee has a represenative that sits on the Pride of Place Taskforce working with local Council and agencies to look after public and private assets in the Newcastle LGA

Businesses are encouraged to be part of the program which supports 3 R’s:

Record       Photograph to use in evidence

Remove     Clean it off or email Mayfield Mainstreet Committee for assistance

Report       Call PAL hotline 131444 and report damage, keep the incident number.

Graffiti is often ego driven – fast removal denies this reward!
