The Mayfield Mainstreet Committee has received from State and Federal Governments over $300,000 dollars in funding to assist with the local programs and initatives. These funds add to the special rate levy contribution and offer real value back to property owners and businesses in ensuring the Mayfield Mainstreet Precinct success.

 

The Mayfield Mainstreet Committee has also raised through local programs and initiatives over the last 5 years approx $50,000 from contributions from local businesses and the community.

NSW Industry & Investment:   $40,000  

Mayfield Mainstreet recieved funding in 2003 ($20,000) and 2005 ($20,000) from the Department of State and Regional Development to put into place the Mayfield Marketing Plan and the project for 2 years titled “Mayfield on the Move” and instigate the second stage of the Mayfield Marketing Plan “Mayfield on the MAP”  Final Marketing Plan e-version 280803

   

Cultural Industries Practices Centre: $250,000

Funding for the Mayfield Self Guided Heritage Walks – Mayfield the Toorak of Newcastle ( brochure_toorak ) and Mayfield – Living the Life ( brochure_living the life) as well as  further funding for a Phd student for three years to study cultural change in Mayfield.

Living in Harmony: $12,000
Funding to assist with the development of a short film depicting local young people from different cultural backgrounds and the impact of moving to Australia. The funding will also assist in the holding of Harmony Day Celebrations in Webb park – Mayfield on the 18th March 2006.    Little Leaders - Web clip   | Harmony Day – Peace City Schools Workbook  Harmony Primary Final.  The project also received a letter from the then Prime Minister – Hon John Howard.
